A Sam Osborne double was the difference as The Bucks held on against Spennymoor.
The Bucks started on top with a lot of balls going into the box and not quite anyone being able to get on the end of it.
Paul Blackett had 2 good chances in quick succession with a headed effort going wide and Jake Hull tracking back to clear the ball out as Blackett ran through on goal.
The deadlock was broken in the 20th minute as Osborne a way drove down the middle of the pitch and hit the ball into the bottom corner to give Buxton the lead.
Ex Matlock player Reece Kendall hit a strike narrowly wide whilst searching for the equaliser.
But The Bucks managed to add a second goal just before half time. Bradley Jackson found the head of Osborne to double his tally and Buxton’s lead before the break.
The visitors came out strong despite an early chance from Jackson The Bucks were pushed back with them being tested a lot.
Rob Ramshaws cross found Connor Shanks after he beat a man and chipped it over to the back post and Shanks couldn’t direct his volley.
Spennymoor then hit the post after a great chance that they would’ve thought hard done by that it didn’t go in. Shanks played the ball to Lebrun Mbeka on the edge hit a strike that hit the post and the follow up effort from Blackett was saved quick from Theo Richardson before being cleared away.
Richardson was forced into action again saving a Glen Taylor volley to deny The Moors getting one back.
As they continued to press on Spennymoor had another chance coming close with the ball falling to the head of Taylor and it glanced the top of the bar.
With all the pressure Spennymoor did get a goal back. Kendall played a whipped ball into the box a Taylor managed to loop it in to give them hope of getting something from the game.
Diego De Girolamo had a chance to seal the 3 points late on with Mbeka tracking back to make sure his team stayed in the game.
But The Bucks did hold on in the end picking up all 3 points and are now 2 points away from the playoff spots.
