Chesterfield Ladies will be looking to stretch their unbeaten run in all competitions to seven games when they face Basford United Ladies at Greenwich Avenue on Sunday afternoon in the East Midlands Women’s Premier Division.
The Blues came within a whisker of falling to a shock defeat last weekend at home against bottom of the table Arnold Eagles Women. Maddi Frances-Creaser’s dramatic equaliser in the final minute of stoppage time secured a 3-3 draw at Shirebrook Academy in a rollercoaster encounter.
Mike Noon’s outfit are currently second in the East Midlands Women’s Premier Division. They’re eight points behind leaders Notts County Women but do have two crucial games in hand on them.

The Opposition
Basford United Ladies currently occupy fifth position in the East Midlands Women’s Premier Division table. They’ve won three, drawn one and lost three of their opening seven league matches of the 2022/23 campaign and have scored and conceded an average of exactly two goals per league game so far.
Their most recent game was also against Chesterfield Ladies. This match finished as a 3-1 defeat for Basford at Greenwich Avenue and saw them eliminated at the second round stage of the East Midlands Women’s League Cup.
Earlier on this year, the club appointed Paul Adams and Jake Hemstock as their new joint managers.
The club play their home games at Greenwich Avenue in the Basford suburb of Nottingham.
Basford United Ladies are a very new football club and were only formed last year.

Chesterfield Ladies won 3-1 away from home at Greenwich Avenue thanks to goals from Georgina Williams, Millie Standen and Millie Jebb-Geer. Katie Platts scored for Basford while defender Ashleigh Davis-Lynch was shown a straight red card midway through the second half.
