Chesterfield Ladies enter this game in third position in the league table. Lincoln United Women are above the Blues due to a better goal difference while Mansfield Town Ladies sit one point behind the Derbyshire outfit in fourth place.

The Opposition

Notts County Women won the East Midlands Women’s Premier Division league title earlier on this week on Monday evening. Their 3-0 victory at home over local rivals Mansfield Town Ladies meant that nobody in the division can mathematically catch up with them at the top of the league. Therefore, the Nottinghamshire outfit have secured automatic promotion to the fourth tier of the women’s football pyramid for next season.

Today’s game will be the club’s final league match of the 2022/23 season. Incredibly, they have only dropped five points in this league campaign with just 90 minutes left to play for them. After 15 games, County have dominated with 13 victories, one draw and only one defeat.

Today’s visitors have won their last seven league games in a row in the East Midlands Women’s Premier Division. In that time, they’ve scored 15 times and conceded only three goals.

Notts County Women have the opportunity to win more silverware in May when they face local rivals Mansfield Town Ladies once again in the final of the Nottinghamshire Women’s County Cup.

Their manager is Adam Dunleavy.

Previous Meeting

Notts County Women’s only league defeat so far this season occurred when these two sides last played each other back in December at Greenwich Avenue.

Chesterfield Ladies comfortably ran out 5-0 winners thanks to a brace from Georgina Williams and goals from Gina Camfield, Millie Standen and Kel Fidler.
