Chesterfield Ladies will take on Anstey Nomads Women away from home on Sunday afternoon in the East Midlands Women’s Premier Division.

This will be the penultimate game of the season for the new Derbyshire Women’s County Cup champions.

The Blues are currently in third position in the league table but haven’t won any of their last four league games. However, confidence in the squad will be sky-high following last weekend’s dramatic cup final victory over Derby County Women U20.

The Opposition

Anstey Nomads Women currently sit mid-table in fifth position in the East Midlands Women’s Premier Division. They can still leapfrog Chesterfield Ladies though to finish the season in third place if they win their remaining two league games of the campaign and if the Blues lose both of theirs.

The Leicestershire outfit have enjoyed an excellent final third of the season and come into Sunday’s match with four wins on the bounce in the league. They’ve also been scoring for fun with an incredible 17 goals over the course of this winning streak. In their most recent game, Anstey comfortably defeated Arnold Eagles Women 3-0 at home.

Previous Meeting

These two sides last met early on this season back in September in the East Midlands Women’s Premier Division at the Chesterfield Panthers Rugby Club ground.

Chesterfield Ladies won the game 3-1 thanks to a superb brace from Amy Pashley plus an own goal from a Nomads defender. Carmelina Colangelo scored Anstey’s only goal of the match.
