Chesterfield Ladies will be aiming to return to winning ways on Sunday afternoon in arguably their biggest match of the 2022/23 campaign so far.

The Blues have collected one point from the last six available in the East Midlands Women’s Premier Division; however, a victory away at league leaders Notts County Women would blow the title race wide open.

Mike Noon’s side are currently six points behind Sunday’s opponents in third position but do have a crucial game in hand on the Nottinghamshire outfit.

The Opposition

Notts County Women are currently at the top of the East Midlands Women’s Premier Division and sit four points clear of Lincoln United Women in second position. However, both the Whites and Chesterfield Ladies have a game in hand on the league leaders.

Notts County Women are still unbeaten in the league so far this season and have won six of their opening seven games in the East Midlands Women’s Premier Division.

In their most recent match, the Magpies scored a dramatic injury-time winner to defeat local rivals Basford United Ladies 3-2 in the league away from home.

In their most recent home game, Notts County Women comfortably beat Arnold Eagles Women 5-2 in the league.

Previous Meeting

These two sides last met in April last season in the East Midlands Women’s Premier Division.

Mike Noon’s side were the visitors and won a thrilling game 5-3.

Millie Standen’s brace plus goals from Hannah Baker, Kel Fidler and Georgia Willson secured all three points for Chesterfield Ladies. Shoniqua Barnes, Summer Gayle and Elle Rowson scored for the hosts.
