BREAKING: Rowe makes ninth new signing

Chesterfield have secured the signature of former-Salford man Martin Smith, who has become James Rowe's ninth signing since joining the club. The 25-year-old midfielder left the Ammies on Monday morning by mutual consent. Smith's previous clubs include Sunderland, Kilmarnock, Coleraine and Swindon Town. He also spent time out on loan at Gateshead, Carlisle United and most recently Chorley.
