Bucks continue unbeaten run with a win against Gloucester

Buxton held on for a 2-1 win against Gloucester for to extend their unbeaten run to 9 games on Saturday.

The home side started the brighter of the two teams and put early pressure on Gloucester's defense.

Their persistence paid off in the 10th minute when Ackroyd's shot was saved by the keeper, but Jackson was on hand to smash in the rebound and give Buxton the lead.

Buxton continued to dominate proceedings and were awarded a penalty in the 11th minute when Max Conway was fouled in the box. Jak McCourt made no mistake from the spot and doubled Buxton's lead in the 14th minute.

In the 22nd minute, Brad Jackson forced the keeper to tip over his cross after receiving a great ball from Theo Richardson.

The second half started slowly, with both teams struggling to create clear-cut chances. Elliott tried his luck from distance in the 62nd minute, but his shot went wide.

Buxton almost added a 3rd with Brisley heading just over the bar but unable to find the net.

However Gloucester did get one back in the 77th minute when Tope Obadeyi turned in the area and slotted the ball past the Buxton keeper.

The goal gave Gloucester a renewed sense of hope, and they pushed hard for an equalizer, but Buxton's defense held firm to secure all three points.

Buxton next face title challenges Fylde at home on Tuesday night.
