Bucks defeat 9 men Kings Lynn

Tommy Elliott’s first half goal meant that Buxton defeated the 9 men of Kings Lynn

1-0.


The game started fast paced with Josh Barrett coming close for the visitors and Joe Ackroyd’s header having to be tipped over the bar in the opening 5 minutes.


Kings Lynn’s best chance of the half fell to Jacob Jones who’s Freekick was saved by a diving Theo Richardson in in goal.


Buxton responded to this immediately hitting the post at the other end from Ackroyd’s effort following a clearance from Adam Crowther.


The Bucks did take the lead minutes later. Jak McCourt ‘s Freekick was headed on by debutante Jake Hull and Tommy Elliott pounced home to make it 1-0.


Kings Lynn pressured late on in the half with Barrett and Aaron Cosgrave combining well down the right hand side but lacking the finishing effort.


Buxton started the second half well with a Brad Jackson effort being tipped over by Paul Jones and Sam Osborne coming close from a corner as he hit it narrowly wide.


Things went from bad to worse for the vistors as both Micheal Clunan and Josh Barrett were sent off for second yellow card offences.


To Buxton fans supprise it was Kings Lynn who dominated the rest of the game with 9 men against 11.


Substitute Christian Oxlade Chamberlin with the best of the chances first from a comet which was headed just over and his effort cleared off the line late on by McCourt to deny the equaliser.


The Bucks are next in action away against Leamington.
