Goals from Tommy Elliott, Joe Ackroyd and Warren Clarke sealed all 3 points for Buxton as they came out 3-1 winners on the road against Banbury.
The Bucks took the lead early on Connor Brown crossed the ball to Elliott who deflected shot got us a corner. And Elliott was able to flick Jak McCourt near post corner over the keeper and into the far side netting.
After a spell of Buxton possession the hosts managed to put some pressure on with Joe Ackroyd picking up a booking after a late challenge on Sam Brown.
McCourt hit a rocket of an effort that went narrowly wide after a deflection in the 33rd minute.
And Buxton we’re able to double the lead as Brad Jackson got down the byline and whipped and Ackroyd acrobatically got his shot off and into the back of the net.
The Bucks managed to add a third just before half time as well after a Max Conway Cross met the head of Clarke to make it 3-0 at the break.
Buxton started the second half like they ended the first Clarke narrowly missed his header this time round.
The Puritans came close twice 15 minutes in. A ball across the box wasn’t able to meet the foot of a Banbury attacker. Then Jak Hickman ball found Connor Roberts who put the ball back across to Joe Laciafano and his shot was blocked on the line.
Banbury put the pressure on late on with a Jay Williams header going over the bar.
And the home side did get a goal at the end to deny Buxton the clean sheet as a Shaun Brisley foul in the box led to the referee pointing to the spot and Iaciafano stepping up and scoring the constellation goal.
The Bucks are next in action against Belper United at home in the semi final of the Derbyshire senior cup on Tuesday.
