Buxton fall to defeat on the road against Brackley

A Callum Stead double meant that Brackley picked up all 3 points against The Bucks.

Buxton started on the front foot with an early penalty shout as Sam Osborne was pushed to the ground.

The home side responded well though with a freekick out wide to Carline going into the side netting.

Wes York had the first opening of the game as Callum Stead laid the ball off to York and Shaun Brisley was there to stop him getting his shot off.

And it was Stead who gave The Saints the lead after Cosmos Matwasa’s shot was going off target and Stead stuck his foot out to take it past Theo Richardson.

Brackley continued to put the pressure on with a corner from Woods that got flicked on by Shepherd Murobedzi and had to be cleared off the line.

The Saints started the second half as they ended the first with a deep cross looking to find Adam Rooney early on and having to be caught by Richardson.

A counter attack from the hosts almost doubled the lead as Matwasa passed it across to Stead who fired over the bar.

Luke Burke touched the ball down and ran through the middle and attempted to put the ball through to Jason Gilchrist who couldn’t control it as it went through to the keeper.

It was Brackley who secured the 3 points at the end as Stead found the ball at the back post and hit it in with his outstretched foot.

Diego De Girolamo had a chance to get one back at the end after his shot was saved well by The Saints Keeper.
