Goals from Diego De Girolamo and Connor Kirby late on were the difference as The Bucks beat Derby County’s under 21s to lift The Derbyshire Senior Cup.
Buxton opened the game with the first chance. Diego De Girolamo’s shot in the middle of the penalty box being blocked out.
After some early pressure from The Bucks Derby came into the game more as Taylor-Hart’s pass into the middle was intercepted and Jack Bates corner was punch away by Theo Richardson.
The best chance of the half so far fell to Dajaune Brown whos header went wide of the mark.
The Young Rams took the lead in the 35th minute through a low driven shot into the bottom corner from Kido Taylor-Hart .
Derby continued their momentum into the second half, with Taylor-Hart coming close to doubling his tally forcing Richardson before Brown missed the rebound from close range.
The Bucks responded well to early second half pressure and thought they had the lead through a Sam Osborne header but the linesman had flagged for offside.
Their were penalty shouts waved away for Buxton in the 79th minute after the Derby defender looked like he had hand balled it.
De Girolamo came close minutes later as The Bucks were pushing on late into the half. His shot was saved at the near post after he dribbled past a defender.
And The Bucks top goal scorer managed to grab the equaliser, tapping home a goalmouth scramble in the six yard box.
The visitors managed to find the winner in stoppage time to seal the trophy. With the game looking like it was going to penalty’s Kirby poked the ball in at the far post after a failed headed clearance.
The Bucks now head into the final 2 games of the season in their late push for playoffs.
