Buxton score 2 penalties in what was a well contested draw against Mickleover

The first chance of the game came from the visitors with Webb having a very ambitious effort from a long way out.

Buxton responded well though with some great passing play which was Built up from the back.

Clarke picked up the ball in the 13th minute from an Augustin mistake and ran with pace at goal but Hawkins did well to make himself big and save it.

Mickleover broke the deadlock with a well taken freekick to Watt who met it with a powerfully header past Shenton in goal.

The Bucks made things all square again after Walshaw was brought down in the box and the referee awarded a penalty. Diego De Girolamo stepped up and slotted it into his right hand side for 1-1 In the 32nd minute.

In what was a very past tempo game, Buxton had their next chance saved after a set piece from Diego was shot goalwards and Watkins Dived out to deny the Bucks from taking the lead.

Mickleover regained the lead in the 44th minute with Webb just keeping it in play and putting a ball into the box for Bacon who finished it off to make it 2-1.

However Buxton didn’t go into the break down after another Penalty was give. De Girolamo stepped up again and scored his second penalty of the game to make things 2-2 at the break.

The first opportunity of the second half came to the home side with Elliott tapping the ball past the keeper and getting clipped. He decided to stay on his feet and continue his run but no one was on the end of his cross.

Sports had a good 20 minute period of play after this with a few good chances.

Webb had a volley that came over his shoulder that he connected with but went out.

It fell to Webb again who could’ve had a few in this game and should’ve taken it down but took to long as it was cleared away.

Buxton got back into the game though with a delivery from the full back Brogan just skimming the head of Walshaw who couldn’t get enough on it to direct it towards goal.

In the 73rd minute the Bucks almost thought they had got the goal they were searching for after Watt did a frantic goal line clearance to stop them.

Last chance of the game fell to Buxton again with Chris Dawson running towards goal giving to ball to Walshaw and his shot was blocked for the game to finish 2-2.
