Buxton vs Kettering ended in a stalemate in a highly contested game at Latimer Park.
The Bucks started well with the returning Diego De Girolamo’s deflected effort hitting the bar and hitting the goal line before bouncing out to be cleared away.
Kettering responded with 2 close headed efforts that went narrowly wide. The first coming form Brad Gascoigne and the second after a corner to George Cooper’s head.
In the 23rd minute Jordan Barnett’s freekick from 25 yards out went just over the bar.
The Poppies thought they had taken the lead with Keaton Ward hitting the ball into the back of the net. Decarry Sheriff who played the ball across was adjudged by the linesman to have played it from out of play.
Sheriff almost gave Kettering the lead again 3 minutes later hitting the inside of the post before coming into the hands of Theo Richardson.
De Girolamo had the last chance of the half hitting an outside the foot effort that again hit the woodwork and no one was able to get on the rebound from the post.
Kettering started the second half well with a chance from Forsyth blocked away for a corner from Josh Granite.
With Buxton on the back foot the home side had 2 corners the second Gascoigne got on the end of with Richardson getting down to stop before clearing away.
With 15 minutes to go De Girolamo came close with his header from Jak McCourts corner ball but the game ended all square with Buxton having to put in a good defensive shift in the second half.
