The game started off very even with not much in it between both of the sides.
First chance of the game fell to Diego De Girolamo when Elliott played a ball over the top to him but the Scarborough defence cleared away well.
Boro had a good passage of play down the right hand side with Turner linking up play well and the end shot going just wide off the mark.
In the 18th minute Diego De Girolamo curling effort sailed just over the bar. Buxton pilled on pressure after a stumble from the visitors keeper found De Girolamo again who hit his shot towards goal but Scarborough cleared away again. It wasn’t long before The Bucks were ahead due to a bit of fortune. Walshaw beat his man well and crossed the ball into the box and hit a Boro player and found it’s way into the net in the 28th minute.
Buxton doubled their lead through the former Scarborough man Walshaw after a rebound off the crossbar fell nicely for Walshaw to calmly slot the ball away not long before half time.
They had the chance to make it 3 with Whitley coming under pressure from the Buxton attackers and Coats having to clear it off the line.
The first chance of the second half brought Scarborough back into it with a mistake from Taylor falling to Cartmen to tap it into the net for 2-1.
Buxton fought back however with a number of freekick opportunities. Tommy Elliott had the ball at his feet but just couldn’t get it round the keeper. A long ball up from Taylor in goal found De Girolamo and the keeper saved it well.
The Bucks continued to put pressure on with a deflected cross from Clarke finding Walshaw and the keeper did well to come out quick and save it with his foot.
It wasn’t long though before the home side had regained their 2 goal lead. Walshaw grabbed his second of the game against his former club with a lob to make it 3-1.
It didn’t take them long before adding the 4th of the game as well with a great bit of passing football leading to Brogan crossing it in to King who finshed it off well.
Just before full time De Girolamo ran at goal with pace but his shot went just wide of the mark.
