FA CUP THIRD QUALIFYING ROUND PREVIEW: BUXTON FACE KIDDERMINSTER

We are back at home as we face Kidderminster in the FA Cup on the 28th September 2024.


This is the third qualifying round.

The Bucks


The Bucks go into this game after beating Barwell 2-1 in the FA Cup second qualifying round replay.


Following the win manager John McGrath said:


""We knew what had to be done and the lads followed the game plan. We look forward to entertaining Kidderminster in front of our own fans."


Since the last game captain Josh Granite has left to join Matlock Town.


Opposition


The club finished 22nd in the National League last season getting relegated.


They play their games at The Aggborough Stadium.


Kidderminster won The FA Trophy in the 1986/87 season and were runners up in this league in the 2016/17 season.


The club have a few nicknames such as Kiddy,The Harriers, Carpetmen and The Reds.


They currently sit 10th in the National League North on 13 points from their first 9 games.


They beat Leek Town 2-1 to get into this round.


In their last game they lost narrowly 1-0 to Alfreton.


Ex Derby County and Hull City manager Phil Brown is now in charge at Kidderminster after taking the role at the beginning of the year.


One to watch

Ashley Hemmings has now made over 200 appearances for the club scoring 64 goals in that time.


The striker has got 4 goals so far this season and will be a threat up front.

Last Time Out


Kiddiminster ended Buxton’s 16 match unbeaten run in April 2023 with Hemmings grabbing the only goal in a 1-0 win after just 36 seconds.


Buxton drew 1-1 last time these sides met at The Silverlands with Connor Kirby getting the only goal for Buxton.
