FA CUP THIRD QUALIFYING ROUND REPORT: BUXTON FORCED INTO REPLAY AGAINST KIDDERMINSTER

Buxton have to head to another replay after Harry Ibbitson’s goal cancelled out Kieran Burton’s for the game to end 1-1.

After a lively opening 10 minutes with both sides having chances through Jack Lambert and then Diego De Girolamo for the hosts the first half quietened down.

But the game was fired back into action when the Bucks thought they had grabbed the lead just before halftime. Ben Sault put the ball into the back of the net but was adjudged to have handled it in the build-up.

Buxton did get the lead in the second half though with Burton putting the ball in from a goal mouth scramble.

Kidderminster responded almost immediately with Ibbitson turning in a low cross to make the score level.

And they kept pushing with Ibbitson yet again going for a similar shot but it glancing wide past the post this time.

Maz Kouhyar put in a ball and found Amari Morgan-Smith and his headed just couldn’t find the net as True Grant held onto the ball well.

Kidderminster had one last attack in them as well as into added time Morgan-Smith hit his shot against the outside of the post before it fell to Substitute Joe Foulkes and his low-driven effort flashed across the net before going wide.

The Bucks will now have to go to a replay on Tuesday night as they look to book their place in the next round.
