It was a weekend of history for Alfreton, who recorded two wins in three days over the bank holiday.
A narrow, but deserved 1-0 victory away to the sleeping giants of Stockport was quickly followed 48 hours later by a convincing 3-1 home win over struggling Southport.
Tom Denton was on the mark in both fixtures, taking his tally to six goals from the opening seven games.
The victory on Saturday was a huge one for the reds, who prior to this week had never even lead at Edgeley Park, and hung on to record their first victory there.
The win over Southport made it three wins in a row, something the club hasn't seen since August 2015.
As well as a good run of results, Billy Heaths side are impressive in terms of performances.
The defeat to Curzon Ashton, the catalyst perhaps for the following three games, was as unfair a result as you'll see this season. Alfreton pressing, and dominating consistently throughout the game, only to concede a 90th minute counter attack and take nothing from the game.
The players have shown great character to bounce back from a gut wrenching defeat, as well as holding on to an early lead against a well fancied side, immediately reacting to conceding an equaliser, and dominating from the first whistle. They've shown throughout August they have what it takes to win, in a variety of circumstances.
Great form, great performances, and key players returning to fitness. It promises to be another exciting month at the impact.
