Huge six-pointer as Mickleover take on Grantham Town

Mickleover and Warrington lining up for kick off before their 2-2 draw

Mickleover are looking to bounce back from last week’s defeat with a home game against bottom of the table Grantham Town.

This is a must win game for Sports, who currently find themselves in relegation trouble following their 2-0 loss to FC United of Manchester last week.

Grantham are one of the few teams below Mickleover in the table, they are on just 12 points from 19 games.

Mickleover, who are three places above Grantham Town, are on 20 points but have played two more games.

The two sides have scored the same number of goals, but Grantham have conceded eight more than Mickleover.

When the two teams played earlier on in the season at South Kesteven Sports Stadium, Grantham gained one of their two home points they have in a 1-1 draw.

Grantham have got all three of their victories this season away from home.

Grantham, also known as The Gingerbreads, have been subject to much change off the pitch in the last month with a new chairman and manager coming through the door.

New manager Dennis Greene was announced on the 24th November and took charge of his first game in a narrow 1-0 loss against Stafford Rangers.

He has previously managed Boston United, Tamworth and AFC Telford.

The Gingerbreads have just one win in their last seven games and have lost their last three, highlighting the difficulty of the job Greene is taking on.

Mickleover are not on much better form with just the two wins in their last seven games, but they have a couple more draws in there.

The game kicks off at 3pm on Saturday at the Don Amott Arena, it is the last chance to watch Mickleover at home until the end of December so make sure you come down and support the boys in this massive six-pointer.
