Hunt scores a double against Rushall as Bucks draw again


Buxton had to comeback twice to get their second 2-2 draw within a week against Rushall.


Max Hunt scored 2 towering headers to make sure The Bucks got a point against The Pics.


Buxton started on the front foot with a lot of chances in the opening 10 minutes of the game.


Sam Minihan found Jordan Burrow who headed it narrowly wide during the opening minutes and Diego De Girolamo was taken out in the box but the referee waved away shouts for a penalty.


Burrow had another header this time forcing the Rushall keeper into a save.


Jak McCourt then hit a strike for long range which Jacob Weaver had to make another save to deny.


Despite all the early Bucks pressure Danny Waldron opened the scoring for the visitors in the 28th minute. Callum Coyle unleashed a through ball to the inform striker who put the ball over Max Dearnley to give them the lead.


Buxton continued to put the pressure back on after going behind with Connor Kirby hitting a curled shot narrowly wide and Burrow heading over from a corner.


On the 43rd minute Max Hunt grabbed his first goal for the club heading home a McCourt corner.


But the Bucks were only ahead for less than 2 minutes with Mitchell Clarke’s header also from a corner kick restoring the lead for Rushall before half time.


Coyle and Moore came narrowly wide for The Pics early in the second half. Before Jake McCourts freekick effort was stopped by Weaver.


After a change of shape bringing on Sam Osborne The Bucks got another equaliser yet again through Hunt. Another McCourt Freekick to Hunts head this time powering it into the top corner of the goal.


Maher had the last opening of the game hitting the post from the edge of the box before The Bucks defence cleared away.


The Bucks are next in action on Halloween against top of the league Tamworth at home.
