The football calendar may have only just begun, but midweek football is back in town on Tuesday and Wednesday night.
Chesterfield return to North Derbyshire for their first home fixture of the season, with the Spireites hosting Aldershot Town in the National League at the Proact Stadium on Tuesday.
A Zavon Hines penalty earned Martin Allen's side a win on the opening day at Ebbsfleet United, but the Blues will again face tough opposition in an Aldershot side who finished in the play-offs last season.
In the National League North, Alfreton set off on the road to Brackley Town on the back of a thrilling 3-3 draw with Kidderminster Harriers at the Impact Arena.
With Brackley finishing third in the division last season, the Reds couldn't ask for a tougher start to their away campaign, although their matching of Kidderminster - who too achieved a play-off finish in April - will give them confidence ahead of a difficult fixture.
The rest of the midweek action comes from the Midland Football League Premier Division, where Ilkeston Town will be looking to make it two wins from two after a 3-2 win over Stourport on Saturday; the Robins travel to Shepshed Dynamo for their first away fixture.
Completing Tuesday night's fixture list are South Normanton, who will be hoping to correct their opening day defeat to Westfields when they host Coventry United.
On Wednesday night, Long Eaton United continue their MFL Premier Division campaign on the road at Quorn, following a 1-1 draw with Sporting Khalsa on the weekend.
