NATIONAL LEAGUE NORTH PREVIEW: BUXTON LOOK TO CONTINUE WINNING RUN WITH KINGS LYNN VISITORS TO THE SILVERLANDS

Buxton are back at home as they face Kings Lynn at the TSS with a 3pm kickoff on 22nd March.


The Bucks


The Bucks go into this game after last weeks 1-0 win away against Brackley.


Daniel Ogwuru scored his first goal for the club as Buxton picked up all three points on the road.


Following the win manager John McGrath said:


"It was a big three points.


We knew it would be tough but delighted we produced the win.


In particular note the way our lads stood up to the big Brackley pressures after the break. We battled and we won.


The boys are getting better every game we play.


There's not only unity throughout the squad, but among our massively important group of supporters."


Opposition


They play their game The Walks which has a capacity of 8200 with 1200 seats.


Their nickname is The Linnets.


Their manager is Adam Lakeland who has also managed Curzon Ashton.


The current club were founded in 2010 and started in the Premier Division of the United Counties League.


They won the National League North in the 2019-20 season.


They have reached the FA Cup second round twice most recently doing so in the 2022-23 season.


In the 2010-11 season they reached the semi final of the FA Vase.


Last season they finished 18th in the league last season.


They currently sit 9th in the league on 63 points from 39 games.


In their most recent game they lost 3-0 to Spennmoor at home.


They have the ninth best record in the league on the road.


One to watch


Jonny Margetts is the clubs top goalscorer in the lead this season with 10 goals.


The 31 year old forward has had a good goalscoring record since joining the club in January 2024.


He has also played for Buxton’s local rivals Matlock, a spell where he was very successful in the Northern Premier League.


Last Time Out


Earlier on this season Kings Lynn picked up all three points against The Bucks in a 2-0 win. Ross Crane and Josh Hmami scored with the hosts winning in October.


Last time these sides met at the TSS, Ben Stephens opened the scoring before being sent off and Gabriel Rogers struck before the break it 2-0. With the opposition down to ten men, Diego De Girolamo and Max Brogan found the net for The Bucks to complete the comeback and secure a draw.
