The Bucks go into this game following a 2-0 win in their final pre season game against Stafford Rangers.
Following the victory manager John McGrath said:
“It’s probably similar to teams we will come up against the season coming so teams will try and sit in and hit us on the counter attack and probably similar to what we got at Matlock Town at home. That’s something we have to overcome and I thought we were excellent moving the ball and shifting today in both half’s and deserved the 2 goals.”
Ahead of the game The Bucks have made 2 signings.
The first being Josh Ayres, an 18 year old striker from Rotherham on a one month loan.
And Dermi Lusala a right back who has previously been at the academy’s of both Spurs and Brentford joins on a permanent deal.
Opposition
The club were promoted last season from the Southern Premier Division Central after beating Telford in the playoff final.
They were relegated the previous season from the National League North so it is an instant return for the side.
The club are nicknamed The Brakes.
They play their games at New Windmill ground.
Their manager is Paul Holleran who is one of the longest serving managers in non league football he have taken charge of over 700 games for Leamington.
In their last preseason game, they lost to Halesowen Town 1-0.
One to Watch
Teddy Rowe was born on Leamington and joined the club after his deal with Aston Villa ended.
The 20 year old midfielder was on loan with Gloucester City last season and made 18 appearances for The Tigers.
Last Time Out
A De Girolamo goal on Valentine’s Day 2023 was the difference when the sides met in Leamington. Last time at the Silverlands a wonderful effort from Mace Goodridge in the 84th minute earned Buxton a draw.
