New signings boost Buxton back to winning ways

Buxton ended their 4 game losing streak as they beat Hereford 2-1 at The Tarmac Silverlands stadium.

The visitors started on the front foot with Jason Cowley finding Adam Rooney in the box but he was unable to get it goalwards.

Connor Kirby had Buxtons first chance with a shot from a volley going over the crossbar.

New signings for The Bucks George Horsbury and Alex Gibson-Hammond linked up on the left hand side and Gibson-Hammond had a low driven shot go just wide of the post.

Max Dearnely was called into action in the 25th minute after Yusifu Ceesay was set up on the edge of the box to force Buxtons number one to tip over the bar in the centre of the goal.

Buxton found the opener just before the break after Kirby’s shot was parried and quick on his feet Jordan Burrow fired in to make it 1-0 at the break.

The Bulls managed to get an equaliser from the spot in the 59th minute after Cessay got pulled down in the box. Cowley stepped up and dispatched the penalty to make it 1-1.

Buxton then struggled to get back into the game for a while with Hereford putting some pressure on Alex Babos crossing the ball to Paul Downing who headed it just wide for their best chance.

Jak McCourt shot from 20 yards out was curled just wide of the post.

Before a brilliantly placed freekick from McCourt found the head of Jake Hull and he found the net to regain the lead and pick up his first goal for The Bucks.

The action wasn’t over yet with Dearnley making a last ditch save into added time to deny an equaliser and make sure Buxton picked up all 3 points.
