PREVIEW: Belper Town vs Histon Town

Belper Town kick off the new 2021/22 season at home against newly promoted side Histon Town. The Nailers have now been placed into the Pitching Northern Premier League - Midlands for the new season, with a lot of new teams in the league and a number of the same teams from last season.

Belper have signed several new players during the close season and hope to make a positive start to the new season. They have kept a majority of players from last season for the new 2021/22 campaign.

Opponents

Histon Football Club are based in the small village of Histon and Impington in Cambridgeshire and their ground is called Bridge Road. They were promoted to the Isthmian League in the North Division before moving over the Pitching Northern Premier League - Midlands.

Last time Belper Town and Histon both met was back in November 2014 in the FA Trophy, Histon won 3-2 on the day.

Grant Black’s Thoughts

After speaking to Grant Black, Belper Town’s manager, he said he was really excited for the new season after disappointment of last season which was cut short due to the COVID Pandemic.

“The players have been brilliant since day one of the pre season and are looking forward to be playing football again in front of a big crowd at the Raygar Stadium.

“All preparation has been done and the lads can’t wait to get started.”
