Preview: Buxton take on Merthyr in the FA Cup!

We are back at home as we face Merthyr Town in the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday 5th November .


The Bucks


The Bucks go into this game following their away win against Southport  last Saturday.


Buxton won 4-1 after a great second half performance!


Goals from De Girolamo,Gilchrist,Osborne and Kirby meany that The Bucks picked up all 3 points on the road.


Opposition

Merthyr play their football in the 7th tier in the Premier division of the Southern league.

They sit 14th in the league after playing 12 games.


Last game they lost 2-1 against the Metropolitan Police.


To get to this round they beat Folkestone Invicta 2-1 with goals from Lewis Powell and Alex John.



They play their games at  Penndarren Park in South Wales.


The club are nicknamed The Martyrs.


The visitors have made a signing ahead of the game resigning defender Nick Rhodes.


One to Watch

Forward Lewis Powell has scored in the past  3 Merthyr fa cup qualifying games.


The 34 year old is a threat in front of goal and was Merthyr’s top goal scorer last season


Last time out

It might not come as a surprise that this is the first meeting between the 2 sides!
