Preview: Buxton travel to local rivals in FA Cup action

The Bucks are away again as they travel to local rival’s Macclesfield in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup.

The Bucks go into this game following the abandoned game vs Scunthorpe last week where they were winning 2-1 in the 95th minute.


In a game that had everything the league put a statement out saying that the game will be replayed in full.


Connor Brown’s red card will also stand from that game.


Buxton have made 2 signings this week firstly bringing in Tom Walker on a 4 month loan from Fylde.


Walker is a versatile player who can play in the wing as well as wing back.


They also then brought in Alexander Petrovic a goalkeeper that has been training with The Bucks since preseason.


Opposition


In their most recent game they beat Ashton United 5-0.


They currently sit 4th in the NPL premier division after 7 games and have 13 points.


Their manager is Mark Duffy who took charge this year having previously being both a player and coach at the club.


The club finished 1st the NPL West last season winning the league.


The club are nicknamed the Silkmen.


They play their games at the Leasing.com stadium which holds 5300.


One to Watch


Midfielder Alex Curran joined the club in 2022. The 24 year old player has bags of pace and is very attacking getting 13 goals for Curzon Ashton in the 2021/22 season.
