The Spirietes look to make it six wins on the bounce when they take on Boreham Wood at the Technique Stadium.
Town boss James Rowe was named managed of the month for March on Monday.
The Opposition
Boreham Wood put an end to their seven game run of draws on Saturday when they beat Wealdstone 3-1 at home. During their long unbeaten run Luke Garrard’s side earned points against some of the division’s top teams including Hartlepool and Sutton. They sit 11th in the table, 6 points off the play-offs therefore a late push isn’t out of the question just yet.
One-To-Watch
Kabongo Tshimanga- The 23-year-old is widely recognized as one of the best strikers in the National League. He started his career in the youth system at MK Dons and signed first team forms in 2014. The forward made 6 first team appearances for the Dons but found himself out on loan at various Non-League clubs for the remainder of his time at the club. Following his release he joined National League North club Boston United where he spent a season before switching to the National League South when joining Oxford City. Tshimanga claimed an impressive return of 24 goals from 42 appearances and was named in the 2018-19 National League South team of the season. He joined Boreham Wood the following season and helped them to a play-off finish scoring 19 goals. Tshimanga isn’t far off beating last season’s tally already with 15 goals to his name.
Previous Meetings
The two sides have met four times overall with one win, one defeat and two draws for the Spireites.
Earlier this season, Chesterfield were held to a 0-0 draw at Meadow Park in a game where both teams cancelled each other out.
Team News
New signing Kairo Mitchell is likely to be involved in the match day squad after joining the club on Saturday.
Whelan’s Thoughts
Saturday’s match winner Tom Whelan spoke to the press ahead of the Boreham Wood clash:
"Last time we played them it was a very cagey game, it wasn't one for entertainment. The pitch is bigger this time so that may play into it. It will be a tough game but let's see what happens, I'm looking forward to it."
