PREVIEW: INFORM BUCKS TRAVEL TO DARLINGTON

We are back on the road as we face Darlington in the first of 3 tough away games in the next week.

The Bucks

The Bucks go into this game following a 1-0 win against Southport at The Silverlands.

Diego De Girolamo scored a great solo effort in the 78th minute as The Bucks picked up all 3 points and their 5th clean sheet in a row.

Both Warren Clarke and Tommy Elliott returned to the squad and made appearances off the bench.  Clarke has been out for 3 months with an injury and Elliott has missed the past few games with illness.

Following the victory manager Craig Elliott said:

"Lots of positives, including another clean sheet, with everyone working hard. We're showing that we can be tough to play against. There are still improvements we have to make, but it's a good balance and we're slowly getting there. It was a good win in front of our fans."

Opposition

Founded in 1883 the home side are nicknamed The Quakers.

Alun Armstrong is in charge of Darlington  after his appointment in 2019. He previously had 2 stints at the club as a player playing over 60 games.

The club finished 13th in the league last season.

They currently sit 4th in the league on 54 points.

They play their games at Blackwell Meadows.

They have lost their last 2 games both on the road against Boston United and Leamington.

Leamington scored a late goal to beat Darlington at the weekend.

They are sat 16th in the form guide table.

One to Watch

Jacob Hazel was one of  the top scorers in the NPL last season when playing for Whitby. The prolific goal scorer had a loan spell at The Bucks in 2014.

Hazel signed on a 2 year contract for Darlington in the summer of 2022 on an undisclosed fee.

The forward has also represented St Kitts and Nevis on  national duty making 3 appearances for the North American side.

Last Time Out

2 goals either side of the half from Brisley and Boden gave Buxton a 2-1 win when Darlington visited Derbyshire in October.
