PREVIEW: James Rowe looks to start reign at Chesterfield with a win

New Chesterfield gaffer James Rowe faces a long trip to Weymouth for his first game in charge of the club.


Chesterfield announced his appointment on Thursday night before the former-Gloucester boss faced the media yesterday morning.

The Opposition

The National League newcomers currently sit one place and one point above the Spireites in 20th. The Terras’ last game was at Edgeley Park on Halloween when they beat Stockport County 2-1 therefore they will be raring to go following a four week wait after a COVID outbreak among the squad.


One-To-Watch

Josh McQuoid- The 30-year-old has played for a number of Football League clubs in his career including two spells at Bournemouth, Millwall and Luton. McQuoid also made five appearances for Northern Ireland. He made the drop into non league when he signed for Torquay United on a three-month loan then spent time at Aldershot Town before signing for Weymouth in the Summer of 2018. During his time with the Terras, the striker has scored ten goals.

It’s ‘as you were’ in terms of injuries. Nathan Tyson is still recovering from a hamstring injury. New signing Akwasi Asante will be looking to make his Spireites debut.
