PREVIEW: Reds looking to keep momentum as they travel to Kettering

Alfreton Town will be looking to continue their pursuit up the National League North table as they travel to Kettering this Saturday.

The Reds returned to winning ways last week with a 3-2 win over Curzon Ashton and will be desperate to add another.

Opposition

Kettering have had a difficult start following promotion last season, sitting on just five points from ten games.

The Poppies have struggled to adapt to life in the National League North, picking up just one win this season against Telford on the opening day.

One to Watch

Former Alfreton winger Lindon Meikle joined Kettering in 2017 and will certainly be one to keep an eye on.

Meikle is best known for his time at Eastwood and Mansfield, gaining promotion to League Two with the Stags in 2013.

Previous Meetings

The two sides have not met since 2012 when Alfreton picked up a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Darran Kempson and Jake Moult.

In the nine meetings between these sides, there have been five draws with the two teams getting two wins each.

Team News

Danny Clarke will not be available following his second yellow card for handball against Curzon Ashton last time out.

Ben Tomlinson is available once again after serving his suspension, but midfielder Bobby Johnson is unlikely to start with a hamstring injury keeping him out last time.
