PREVIEW: Spireites host Hatters in front of TV cameras

Chesterfield welcome Stockport County to the Technique Stadium in hope of bouncing back from Tuesday night's last gasp defeat to Torquay.

The Opposition

County have had a successful Summer and are one of this season's title favourites. They have claimed nine points out of a possible twelve- their only defeat coming on the opening day to Torquay. Jim Gannon's side have scored ten goals already this season, five of which were put past Wealdstone on Tuesday in a game that finished 5-2.

One-To-Watch

John Rooney- The attacking midfielder spent time in the youth setups at Everton and Macclesfield before signing professionally for the Silkmen in 2008. Following his release he spent some time in the States with New York Red Bulls and Orlando City. The 29-year-old went on to play for Barnsley, Bury, Chester, Wrexham, Guiseley and Barrow before joining County this Summer. Rooney has found the back of the net five times already.

Previous Meetings

Last season the sides only met one, due to the cancellation of the season. At Edgeley Park the Hatters claimed all three points with goals from Osbourne and Newby.

Team News

John Pemberton reiterated that Nathan Tyson is 'getting there' and told the press that everyone came through the Torquay game.

Pemberton's Thoughts

"They're one of the favourites to go up. They have had a great Summer in terms of recruitment. They have lots of talent but we know what their strengths and weaknesses are.
