PREVIEW: Spireites look to kickstart season away at Alty

Chesterfield travel to Moss Lane for the first ever time in hope of a return to winning ways in the National League. On Saturday, Scott Boden’s opener was cancelled out by National League top scorer Sam Barratt, who's second-half brace won the game for the Maidenhead.

The Opposition
Similarly to the Spireites Alty haven’t really got going yet. Both sides are on six points. Altrincham’s only win came against fellow strugglers Dover whilst they managed a draw against Weymouth, Eastleigh and Hartlepool.
Phil Parkinson bolstered his squad before their defeat to Aldershot on Saturday with a triple signing. Alistair Smith, Andy Dales and Jamie McDonald joined the Robins on Friday.

Tom Peers
The forward started his career in the youth setup at Chester. He went on to sign first team forms in 2013 and enjoyed spells on loan at Salford and Hednesford before joining the latter on a permanent basis. The 25-year-old went on to make appearances for Telford and Nantwich Town before making the move to Moss Lane in 2017. The following Summer he spent time in the States on loan with New Orleans Jesters
He has found the back of the net twice so far this season, making him Alty’s top scorer.

Despite five defeats in seven, John Pemberton said the mood in the dressing room isn’t “doom and gloom.”
“They’re lively and looking forward to the next game. They know how important the game is and they know how important the results are to us at the moment and they want to turn it round. "
