PREVIEW: Spireites take on third place Yeovil

Chesterfield face Yeovil Town tonight at the Proact Stadium with the Spireites looking for a first victory since the 1-0 win over Notts County.

The Opposition

Yeovil's 15-year stay in the EFL came to an end last season as they went down with Notts County.

The Glovers currently occupy the second play off spot in the National League. They are unbeaten in their last four, but three of these have been draws. On Saturday they beat Halifax Town 2-0.

One to watch

Rhys Murphy - The striker started off in Wimbledon academy before moving to Arsenal. He signed professionally in 2008 before having loan spells with Brentford and Preston.

After a year with Dutch side Telstar, Murphy joined Dagenham and Redbridge before he represented a variety of other clubs in the football league.

The 29-year-old joined Chelmsford City who were in the National League South, scoring 28 goals. He joined the Glovers in 2019, with 14 goals to his name already.

Previous Meetings

Last time the two sides met, Kristian Dennis’ 93rd minute winner gave Chesterfield fans some hope that they would avoid relegation to the National League, but that was not to be the case.

Team News

John Sheridan revealed that Josef Yarney will not be back till after Christmas, due to the hamstring injury he picked up against Notts County.

Sheridan’s Thoughts

The Spireites gaffer said: "If we play like we did on Saturday, we will win more games than we lose. We are looking for a positive reaction from the players."
