Chesterfield travel to Meadow Lane in hope of extending John Pemberton’s unbeaten run as caretaker manager when they face Notts County under the BT Sport Cameras.
The Opposition
The Magpies currently sit 7th in the National League table on 47 points. However they are struggling with injuries at the moment and six players could be missing for the weekend.
Michael Doyle will miss out due to receiving a red card last week, while goalkeeper Sam Slocombe, defender Ben Turner and midfielder Regan Booty will all not feature.
One To Watch
Kyle Wooton - The forward started his career with Scunthorpe United before various loan spells (Lincoln City, North Ferriby United, Cheltenham Town, Stevenage, Halifax Town) and finally Notts County before signing for the Magpies on a permanent basis at the beginning of this season. The 23 year old has scored 11 goals so far this season and is definitely one to watch.
Previous Meetings
The Spireites have faced County many times in the Football League but this will be the second time they have faced each other in the National League.
Earlier on in the season at The Proact the Spireites came out on top with former player Gevaro’s first goal for Chesterfield proving the difference.
Team News
John Pemberton revealed that there are no fresh injury concerns ahead of the match. He did say that a few players have knocks but assured they will be fine.
Pemberton’s Thoughts
He said: “They’re all tough games, I don’t disrespect any opposition we face because we’re not down at the bottom of the league for no reason."
"We are there because of what’s happened, how we’ve been playing and our form in the first half of the season.”
