PREVIEW: Spirietes look to get back on track against Woking

Chesterfield visit the Kingfield Stadium for the first ever time as they look to return to winning ways against strugglers Woking.

Town have recorded just one win in their last seven however they have faced some of the league's top sides.

The Opposition

The Cards are on a really poor run of form with their last win all the way back in March against Wealdstone. Out of their last ten games they’ve lost nine of them with the other ending in a goalless draw.

One-To-Watch

Sam Ashford- The 25-year-old has scored in each of his last two games for the Cards against Dagenham & Redbridge and Weymouth. He started his career in the Tottenham Hotspur academy and has experience at National League South level after representing a number of clubs in the division. He joined Crawley Town in Summer 2020 and joined Alan Dowson’s side on loan in March. The forward scored on his debut against King’s Lynn and has found the back of the net four times in ten appearances.

Previous Meetings

The reverse fixture was Chesterfield’s second game of the season. Luke Rawson came on off the bench to score a brace and help Town to a 4-0 win with Tom Denton and Alex Kiwomya netting the other two.

Team News

James Rowe revealed that Joel Taylor has suffered a groin injury and will be out injured for two to three weeks.

Rowe’s Thoughts

"Their results in the last ten games haven't been great. But we will give them the respect they deserve and go with a gameplan.

"They've got nothing to fear. But if we play to our strengths and play how we want to, we will put our stamp on the game."
