PREVIEW: Spirietes travel to East London

Chesterfield travel to Victoria Road to take on Dagenham & Redbridge in the National League. The game will be played behind closed doors however supporters can purchase a stream to watch the match.

The Opposition

Daryl McMahon’s side are 17th in the National League- six points above the drop zone and six points off the play-offs. They come into the game off the back of a 3-0 defeat to Eastleigh in midweek.

One-To-Watch

Paul McCallum- The forward broke through the youth team at Dulwich Hamlet and attracted the attention of many Premier League clubs, ultimately choosing to sign for West Ham United where he formed part of the development squad. He spent time out on loan at a host of clubs in the lower leagues, also having a stint in Scotland with Hearts. He put pen to paper in 2015 when he signed for Leyton Orient where he went on to make 39 appearances for the Os. The 27-year-old spent time with Eastleigh and Solihull Moors, including a loan spell at Barnet before joining Dagneham & Redbridge this Summer.

Previous Meetings

The Spireites have only visited Victoria Road once since they beat the Daggers 1-0 under Paul Cook. Tom Denton made his debut for the Spireites there in 2018 when Chike Kandi cancelled out Curtis Weston’s opener.

Team News

Jak McCourt is out due to suspension; he picked up his fifth yellow card of the season on Tuesday night.

Tom Denton misses out due to a knee injury as does Joe Rowley who picked up a hamstring injury at Boreham Wood.

Rowe’s Thoughts

"Tough game. Second game in four days. They can beat anyone but can also be beaten by anyone. There is that kind of form.

"We will keep our heads down. We are focused on tomorrow and we will go there to win."
