PREVIEW: The Bucks return to league action with visit to Chorley

We are back to league action after a couple of weeks off as we head to Chorley on Tuesday 12th December.

The Bucks


The Bucks go into this game after a 2-0 victory in the Derbyshire Senior Cup last week.


Scott Boden scored a first half goal and after a late save from debuten Alex Petrovic to keep The Bucks ahead Jake Wright sealed our place in the next round.


The last league game ended in defeat with Buxton losing 1-0 to Southport



Opposition

The club finished 12th in the league last season.


They play their games at Victory Park which has a capacity of 4300.


The club are nicknamed The Magpies.


They currently sit 8th in the league on 31 points after 19 games.


Ex Bucks manager Jamie Vermiglio is the Chairman at the club after returning to the club at the beginning of the season.


Andy Preece is the the manager after taking charge in May 2022.


The former Blackpool and Crystal Palace player has previously managed Southport and Northwich Victoria.


They reached the 4th round of the FA cup in the 2020-21 season beating Derby 2-0 in the 3rd round.


The home side are unbeaten in 7 games in all competitions and beat Blyth in their most recent game in the FA Trophy.


One to watch


Justin Johnson has scored 8 goals for The Magpies and sits at 6th on the goalscoring table.


The Dutch winger has played in Cyprus, Greece and Scotland.


Last Time Out


Goals from both Declan Poole and Warren Clarke were Cancelled out by 2 goals from Connor Hall in a 2-2 draw when the sides met here in February.
