Preview: The Bucks travel to Scarborough in the hunt for playoffs

UP NEXT:

We are on the road again as we face Scarborough Athletic in our penultimate away fixture of the season.

The Bucks

The Bucks go into this game following a 1-0 victory against Boston United on Easter Monday.

A Diego De Girolamo lay off to Connor Kirby who smashed the ball into the net was the difference at The Tarmac Silverlands stadium.

Following the victory manager Craig Elliott said:

“After Friday’s disappointment this was a good comeback, showing lots of character.

There was some good football on display from fine players in difficult weather conditions.

We never thought we’d be challenging for the play-offs, but we’ve got a chance of getting in there.

These lads have been brilliant and the fans are unbelievable. The supporters helped get us over the line in a difficult last 10 minutes against Boston.

“There are just three league games and a cup final left, fingers crossed we will end the season in positive fashion.”

The victory leaves Buxton 3 points outside of the playoff positions with 3 games to go.

Opposition

The club finished 3rd in the NPL last season and were promoted via the playoffs.

They play their games at the Flamingo Land stadium which has a capacity of 2833. It was opened in 2017.

The club was founded in 2007 after the Liquidation of Scarborough FC.

The club are nicknamed the seagulls.

They currently sit in the playoffs spots in 4th place on 66 points.

On Easter Monday they played Chorley and won 3-2 with Danny Greenfield getting 2 goals.

One to Watch

Michael Coulson is a forward who is the captain of Scarborough.

The 35 year old was born in Scarborough and has played in the football league.

He has also played 2 games for the England C team.

Last Time Out

A Colville goal was the difference as The Bucks lost narrowly 1-0 in November.
