Alfreton claimed their first win of the season as they demolished a fragile Blyth Spartans 3-0 at the Impact Arena.
Billy Heath made one change to the side that drew 1-1 to Boston United in midweek with Bobby Johnson replacing Dale Whitham.
Amari Morgan-Smith had the first chance of the game. His low drive forced Blyth keeper, Nathan Harker, into making a good save with his feet.
Alfreton controlled proceedings and reduced Blyth Spartans to minimal chances.
Despite this it was the visitors who almost took the lead, a Robbie Dale long range free kick looked destined for the back of the net, but an impressive dive from Jack Atkinson saw the young keeper tip the ball over the bar.
Defender Josh Thacker opened the scoring for the Reds just before half time. A Danny East free kick was punched away by the Spartans goalkeeper, but only as far as Thacker who coolly finished.
Johnson doubled the Reds lead early in the second half, having strode into the Spartans half, the midfielder unleashed a thunderous strike into the top corner from 30 yards out.
The Reds didn’t let up as they found their third of the game just eight minutes later. East and Morgan-Smith both had efforts blocked on the line before Qualter tapped to home to seal a dominant performance.
Ben Tomlinson had the chance to make it four, but his effort was skewed over the crossbar. David Lynch won the ball in the Spartans area before sliding the ball across to Tomlinson who squandered the opportunity.
The Reds vital first win sees them climb to eighth in the Vanarama National League North, one point away from the play-offs.
Alfreton will be looking to continue their winning ways as they travel to Altrincham on Tuesday night.
