NEWS: Styche amongst eight new Buxton signings

Buxton have announced that they have retained 6 of their players and signed 8 new ones in a Super Sunday Big announcement.


With fans becoming impatient with some of top players leaving the club such as Callum Chippendale and Liam Hardy, Buxton today have signed 8 new players for the squad for next season.

As well as that popular players Shenton, Elliot,King, Curley,O’Grady and Clarke have signed new deals for next season.

 

Reece Styche


The first of the Bucks’ signings is Gibraltar International striker Reece Styche. He came through the youth system at Hednesford Town made his debut for the club on 28th April 2007, coming off the bench and scoring twice in a 3–2 away win over Kendal Town.


He hasn’t stuck around at most of his past clubs having ten clubs in his last ten seasons. He joins from Bromsgrove sporting who he was only able to make one appearance for before the season was stopped.


When asked about the signing manager Hayward said: “Styche is a prolific goalscorer in Conference North.


“He is very strong and powerful, he holds the ball up as well as getting the goals. We struggled last season when balls got chucked in the box, this season we will have a bit more firepower when aerial challenges come.

 

Stephen Brogan


The 2nd signing of the day comes in the form of Brogan from Spennymoor Town.

An experienced left sided player started his career at Rotherham United.

After suffering a serious injury where he sat out for 14 months with a broken leg. he joined Stalybridge Celtic on a month's loan deal in January 2011, which was later extended, before returning to Rotherham in March.

After this he has been at a number of non league clubs including Gainsborough Trinity, Alfreton Town and Boston United.

 

Khaellem-Bailey-Nicholas

Forward Khaellem Bailey-Nicholls has signed from Southern Division One Central side Bedworth United.


This fast attacking forward started his career at Birmingham City playing for the Blues academy.

 

James Berrett


The 31-year-old midfielder arrives from Grantham Town who has made over 300 appearances in the football league. The player has played for the Republic of Ireland at U18s, U19s and U21s level. He started his career at Huddersfield Town in the academy before signing a professional contact with them in 2007. He went on to play 35 games for the club before signing for Carlisle United.

After spending 4 years at the club he went to play for clubs such as Yeovil Town, York City, Grimsby Town and Halifax Town before ending up at the Gingerbreads.

 

Shane Killock

Another Huddersfield Town youth player Killock joins the Bucks from National League North side Alfreton Town.


Killock was released from the youth system when he was young. After that he joined Ossett Albion, where he played in the Northern Premier League as a 15-year-old schoolboy. He rejoined Huddersfield's academy in early 2006.


He was sent out on loan to various clubs such as Hyde United, Harrogate Town,Oxford United and finally Telford United where he signed a permanent deal in 2009.

 

Callum Powell


With 13 goals and 12 assists last season Callum will be looking to push the bucks up the league table next season.


Hayward has described Powell as a direct fast winger”. The winger prefers the play out on the left and likes to cut in onto his stronger right foot.

He moved to Nueaton Borough FC who he has been with since May 2019.

 

Osebi Abadaki


Winger Abadaki has signed for the bucks for a second time after being with them back in the 2015/16 season.

He signs from Hednesford who he has been with for the last few seasons. Before that he was at Stafford and Nantwich Town.


He has been at lots of non league clubs so has a lot of experience and Buxton fans will be glad to have him back.

 

Jack Sherratt


A former Port Vale junior, he achieved fame in 2013 when joining Leyton Orient through Samsungs’s ‘Win a Pro Contract’ competition.


After leaving Orient, Jack had a brief spell in Canada with K-W United in 14/15 before returning to this country. Former clubs include Stone Dominoes, Alsager Town, Northwich Victoria and Ashton United.
