Top of the league Buxton face in form Ashton

Recent games for The Bucks

After the journey in the FA Cup came to an end last Saturday Buxton bounced back by heading top of the league with a 5-1 win against Scarborough on Tuesday. Jamie Ward scored a double including a beautiful finish from the edge of the box in a game which The Bucks looked fierce.

Opposition

Ashton United sit towards the bottom end of the table in 18th.

The Robins do however sit 6th in the form table after 4 wins in their last six NPL games.

Established in 1878 they play their games at Hurst Cross.

The stadium can hold 4,500 with 250 seated.

They were in the National league North 2 seasons ago.

One to watch

Ex Hartlepool player Micheal Rayners has almost 500 professional games of football under his belt. The 6ft4 defender is solid in the Ashton back line.

Last time

We don’t have to go back far to the last time we played Ashton with a 1-1 draw in September as Diego De Girolamo cancelled out Bentham’s goal.
