Weekend football preview

The FA Cup kicks off this weekend with the Extra Preliminary Round, whilst we have fixtures to look forward to in the Football League, National League and Midland Football League.

After a 1-1 draw with Barton Town to kick off their Toolstation NCEL Premier Division campaign last weekend, Staveley turn their attention to the all-important FA Cup qualifying.

The Trojans will be on home soil again, and will be hoping to make the home advantage count when they welcome Boston Town to Inkersall Road at the Extra Preliminary stage.

South Normanton Athletic and Long Eaton United from the Midland Football League Premier Division also enter the FA Cup at this round, with South Normanton travelling to Sleaford Town whilst Long Eaton host St. Andrews.

Following their victorious opening day at Reading over a week ago, Derby return to Sky Bet Championship action with Leeds United the visitors to Pride Park for the Rams' first home game of the season, a fixture pushed back to a 5:30pm kick-off to be televised.

In the National League, Chesterfield will be searching to retain top spot with a third win out of three when they host Braintree Town at the Proact Stadium, whilst Alfreton Town hit the road again in the National League North, hoping to earn their first win of the season at York City.

Ilkeston Town complete Saturday's football line-up with the visit of Lye Town in the Midland Football League Premier Division.

The Robins have won two out of two so far - both by a 3-2 score line - and could go top of the pile with victory over Lye.
