Bucks return to league action with another win


A Jak McCourt goal just before half time and a Diego De Girolamo late effort way the difference as Buxton came out 2-0 winners against Farsley Celtic.


Tom Allan had the first opportunity of the game with a glancing header being caught by Theo Richardson in goal.


In the 18th minute Brad Jackson had a dangerous cross that Dearnley had to come out to collect.


Farsley put some pressure on with a spell of corners but The Bucks defended well blocking 2 and clearing 1 away.


A 25 yard freekick from Connor Kirby came close to the breakthrough going narrowly wide.


But it was The Bucks who found themselves a head at the break. McCourt on the Edge of the box fired a rocketed shot that deflected off of a defender and found its way into the back of the net.


Farsley almost equalised early on in the second half as Frank Mulhern picked the ball up took it around the corner and from a tight angle shot it into the side netting.


With the visitors pushing on Butler forced Richardson into tipping his header over the bar.


Josh Grainte headed a corner across the box to Jake Hull and managed to head it narrowly wide of the mark.


Buxton had a narrow scare late on Daniel Devine hit a volley that Richardson


But it was The Bucks that managed to find a second goal to get the 3 points and stay unbeaten in 13 games. Tommy Elliott played a through ball to Diego De Girolamo who rounded the keeper to make it 2-0.
