Buxton are held to a stalemate against Chester

Both teams had to share the points as Buxton drew 0-0 in the National League North to Chester.

A pass back to Tyrer in between the sticks almost caught him off guard in the opening stages as he had to scurry to clear out.

The first big opportunity of the game for The Bucks came for Connor Kirby as he was bundled to the ground and then got back up to get a shot away into the side netting.

Diego De Girolamo had an effort minutes later looping his cross/shot effort towards the keeper.

The visitors fought back well with Dudley having to be denied by Theo Richardson from close range.

Buxton ended the half well with Scott Boden on the spin beating his man before Williams recovered to put in a last ditch block.

The second half started lively with both teams having chances. Boden had a shot on the edge of the area but couldn’t get enough power to challenge the keeper and Dudley turned well to beat his man and Brisley put in a block to clear away.

Matthew Sargent was involved in a goalmouth scramble with the Chester keeper as he tried several times to put the ball in the net.

And Chester almost grabbed the winner late on as Willoughby was denied from close range by Richardson.
