Buxton look to continue unbeaten run with tough clash against AFC Fylde

The Bucks

The Bucks go into this game following a 2-1 win at the weekend against Gloucester as they continue their unbeaten run.

Both Clarke and Elliott made their 100th appearances for The Bucks.

The Bucks were forced into changes with both Brown and Hull being ruled out through injury.

Buxton went 2-0 up within the first 15 minutes Jackson scoring a rebound finish and McCourt grabbing his first goal for the club. The visitors got a goal back in the second half but Buxton were able to hold on to get another 3 points.

Following the victory manager Craig Elliott said:

"First half we were brilliant, a bit scrappy at times after the break, but overall I'm delighted for the fans, who continue to give us such a boost. Players are coming in to the side to contribute really well to our positive team performances, adding to the good spirit at the club. We play full-time AFC Fylde on Tuesday night. They're a good team, but then so are Buxton."

Opposition

Founded in 1988 the club were originally known as Kirkham and Wesham.

The club are nicknamed The Coasters.

They reached the 3rd round of the FA Cup in the 2019-20 season where they lost 2-1 to Sheffield United.

The club finished 3rd in the league last season.

They currently sit 2nd in the league with 67 points and have a game in hand on Kings Lynn who are top.

They play their games at Mill Farm.

At the weekend they drew 0-0 to Blyth and lost once in February.

They are sat 8th in the form guide table.

One to Watch

Danny whitehead is a 29 year old midfielder who began his career at Stockport County.

He joined The Coasters in January 2022 from Port Vale following a loan spell at Altrincham.

He won the national league in the 2017-18 season.
