Darlington completed a second half comeback to beat Buxton 2-1 at Blackwell Meadows.
The game commenced with a burst of energy as Buxton's Joe Ackroyd won a free-kick in the early stages.
However, Darlington quickly asserted their presence on the field, with Cedric Main embarking on a penetrating run in the 4th minute out wide, narrowly missing the target with a powerful shot that grazed the side netting.
Matty Cornish's dangerous cross in the 8th minute came to the head of Jarrett Rivers that went just over the bar.
It was Buxton who managed to break the deadlock in the 35th minute, courtesy of an own goal. A long goal kick from Joe Young was headed back by Scott Barrow and past his goalkeeper for 1-0.
Max Hunt came close to doubling The Bucks lead just before half time with 2 headed efforts one being saved out and the second being tipped over the bar.
Darlingtons continued pressure came through in the 70th minute when Andrew Nelson’s acrobatic flick on came to Mitchell Curry to tap in and find the equaliser for the Quakers.
In the 81st minute, it was Darlington who seized the opportunity to find the winner, as the ball was laid back to Nelson on the edge of the area and he smashed it into the back of the net.
