Late goal denies Buxton all three points

Buxton had to settle with sharing the points after a late equaliser from Josh McCammon meant The Bucks drew 2-2 with Peterborough Sports.

The hosts started on the front foot with a deflected Connor Kirby shot coming close. Zaine Francis-Angol then linked up with Jordan Burrow who had a near post shot go into the hands of the goalkeeper.

And it wasn’t long before they got the first goal of the game with Jak McCourt passing it into the middle to Diego De Girolamo who fired it into the bottom far corner.

But Buxton weren’t ahead for long as Ben Fowkes long range effort went through the legs of Max Dearnley to make it 1-1 in the 24th minute.

Peterborough had the ball in the back of the net again just before half time but it was ruled out for a foul in the box.

McKeown almost regained the lead for Buxton early in the second half after a mistake from the keeper gave him a headed opportunity that he couldn’t quite get enough power on.

De Girolamo looking for his 100th goal in a Buxton shirt tried his luck from a long way out but curled the ball narrowly over the bar.

McCourt also had a shot from distance before Burrow fired the ball over in the box.

However Burrow did make it 2-1 in the 78th minute smashing in a rebound to gain the lead back.

Peterborough got the equaliser in the 4th minute of added time McCammon putting home the rebound to make the game 2-2.
