Midweek football preview

Ilkeston kick off the midweek football with a Monday night fixture, before Tuesday and Wednesday night see a whole host of football take place.

The Robins search for a fifth win in six league games to keep them roosting at the top of the Midland Football League Premier Division table, and they will have to get past Coventry United at the New Manor Ground to achieve that.

Elsewhere in the MFL Premier Division on Tuesday night, South Normanton look for their first points of the season at home to Lye Town while Long Eaton United travel to Boldmere St. Michael's for an earlier kick-off time of 7:30pm.

Derby also pitch in on the midweek action, hosting Ipswich Town on the back of a second consecutive league defeat. The Rams were beaten 2-1 at Millwall on Saturday, and will be hoping to earn their first home win of the season on Tuesday night.

In the Northern Premier League Premier Division, Matlock travel to Scarborough Athletic hoping to build on a 4-0 opening day victory over Lancaster City. Mickleover, who earned a point at Stalybridge Celtic on Saturday, are again on the road as they travel to Gainsborough Trinity, while Buxton look to rectify their defeat to Whitby when they visit Nantwich Town.

Gresley host Stocksbridge Park Steels and Glossop visit Prescot Cables in the East and West Divisions respectively, before Belper round up the fixture list alongside Staveley on Wednesday night with their East Division fixture at Lincoln United.

The Trojans, meanwhile, host Hemsworth Miners Welfare on the back of a 5-0 win at Harrogate Railway Athletic.
