Midweek football roundup

None of Derbyshire's football sides suffered defeat on Tuesday night, as the Integro League Cup saw maximum progression of Derbyshire sides while Derby took a point from their Championship fixture.

Frank Lampard's Rams were left frustrated on Tuesday night, as Blackburn Rovers held them to a 0-0 draw at Pride Park. After a 1-0 defeat to Rotherham at the weekend, the Rams are now two games without a goal, but will have the chance to rectify their blip when they host promotion chasers Brentford.

The first round of the Northern Premier League's Integro League Cup provided a few surprise scorelines, as all of Derbyshire's sides progressed to the second round of the cup competition.

The West Division's Glossop provided the biggest shock of the night by thrashing Premier Division outfit Grantham Town 6-0 in their own back yard, whilst East Division Gresley eased past Gainsborough Trinity with a 4-1 win. Gresley's league rivals Belper had to take hosts Spalding United to penalties after a 1-1 draw, but the Nailers were able to progress with a 4-2 shoot-out victory.

Premier Division sides Buxton and Mickleover suffered no shock results, with the Bucks beating Colwyn Bay 1-0 whilst the Sports eased past Stamford with a 3-0 win.
