UP NEXT:

For one last time in 2024 the Bucks are at home as they face Alfreton at the TSS on Boxing Day.

The Bucks

The Bucks go into this game after losing narrowly 1-0 to Warrington Town at the weekend.

Following the loss manager John McGrath said:

“We had a good, creative first half but it was a different story running into the gale-force wind after half-time.

Our decision making wasn't good enough and it's disappointing. We didn't face forward often enough. But it was not a penalty in my opinion. Then, we had a perfectly good penalty shout of our own turned down.

So we move on. We'll be training hard for the Boxing Day match and working to smooth out today's shortcomings."

Opposition

The Reds go into the game following a 2-1 victory against Radcliffe last weekend with Jed Abbey and David Moyo getting the goals for Alfreton.

They currently are in 7th place after 21 games and have 37 points.

Their manager is Billy Heath and he has been in charge since the 2017/18 season.

The club finished 5th in the league last season losing to Boston United in the playoffs on penalties after a 0-0 draw.

They play their games at The Impact Arena which has a capacity of 3600.

They won the National League North in the 2010-11 season and last season they reached the second round of the FA Cup.

One to watch

Jed Abbey took his goal tally to 8 last weekend and is the top goalscorer at the club.

The 22 year old is a Dutch midfielder that joined the club in the summer following his release from South Shields.

He was previously part of Wolves’ academy where they described him as a versatile midfielder.

Last Time Out

Adam Lund and Liam Waldock scored in the first half and despite an early goal from Sam Minihan in the second Buxton lost 2-1 at the beginning of this year.

Buxton last won this fixture in September 2022 when they progressed in the FA Cup after goals from Scott Boden and Luke Burke in a 2-1 win.
